about

from TRADING WRECKAGE HQ:
" All has been quiet on the Gay Cum Daddies-front since 2018's Metal Beach (Decoherence Records) disintegrated the need for any coherency in the song as we know it. And their efforts haven't gone unnoticed, unfortunately for worse! Ringleader of the Gay Cum Daddies, Reece McLean, said he began noticing evidence of sabotage as early as 2013 when the band's original Facebook page was deleted for what he says were "laughably uncommunicative reasons." McLean explains, "I've finally been putting the pieces together, and I know in my heart it is the Reverend Horton Heat fanbase and comment section [...] It's a real concentrated group of dudes that claim we have no musical bones in our bodies. It's sabotage 100%." Not only does the band claim that their original page was sabotaged, they allege that their latest EP has been blocked from release by anonymous fans of the psychobilly rocker Reverend Horton Heat. "We recorded an EP with our good friend Max Deems in some building no one cares about anymore back in June 2018, and we completed it pretty fast which is nearly never the case for us. And of course as luck would have it, the good Reverend's fans started taunting us on social media," McLean claims. A now unavailable Instagram post depicted an email purportedly from the band promoting their new EP to an unnamed recipient using crude, unprofessional and shockingly rude language. "They sent emails to every label you could think of saying 'oh hey we're huge dumbasses who don't know how to play our instruments look at how bad we suck, are we good enough for your shitty label?' you know, just completely inflammatory shit we'd never say in our lives. [...] We're deep in damage control now and it's getting better but it's a completely unnecessary source of frustration. I think the real Reverend Horton Heat has it out for us." The new EP entitled 'Remove' features live-favorite Grappling Hook and is the debut of drum machine/synth parrot Chase Gardner. The first ever drummer for Gay Cum Daddies, Will Rock, appears on closer Bleat String. "I'm just hoping to steer this into a positive thing, because even without the interference, the whole idea of Remove was rooted in some negative feelings and experiences that we've since been able to grow and flourish from. I think that will be evident in our next full-length that we hope to have out next year. "
